The palio di sienna a peculiar medieval horse race

Traveling in Italy is a delight for in many cities and towns we can find a large number of festivals both travelers like to get to know their traditions and festivities that often surprises us. A very popular and traditional holiday we found is called The Palio di Siena. It's a party that remains of the medieval era to today and it's certainly interesting to know.

Held on 2 July and 1 August and is a kind of horse race and takes place in Piazza del Campo. It can be summarized as a kind of race horse that has the peculiarity that if the horse arrives without valid rider victory. Is to give a series of laps and the winner will carry the red canopy that is a kind of rectangular red flag that identifies the winner.

It makes little sense if the prize of winning the horse but it is certainly a party that now do not understand but that was done in the middle ages and of course you find the proper sense. Anyway it is a conclusion very soon by the Italian public and tourists who do not want to lose any of the celebrations because it is something worth seeing.

It is a pleasure to listen to such as traditional festivals and tango like in Italy. It's always nice to see and know of such festivals and traditions if they want to visit the country at this time of celebration.
